Evidence. This is a photo of recovered evidence. The FBI said evidence like this was basically useless, and dismissed because it was weathered and clearly couldn't have been "fresh" (freshly-fired is apparently the same thing to these "experts"), and supported that bit of creative theory with testimony from a witness who said it hadn't rained in Baghdad for quite some time.
What? Anyone who has operated in Iraq will tell that insurgents do not go to the local big box sporting goods store to purchase pristine bullets. Bullet casings are recycled time and again; children collect them in the streets and salvage them for money. Any visible bullet casing could easily have been in play that day. Even if it was not in play that day, doesn't it paint a very clear picture of what kind of area this was?
