In a courageous act, the father of the Kia’s driver refuses to participate in the government’s “play” by helping convict Nick Slatten of his son’s death because, all along, the government has told this man the truth about who killed his son—and it was NOT Nick.Read More
We have known all along that the "investigation" into what happened in Nisur Square on September 16, 2007, was a sham, and we've dedicated an entire page of our website to detailing several reasons why. We updated that page today because, as it turns out, apparently, the U.S. government has known something all along too. Less than a week before Nick Slatten's retrial was set to begin, the DOJ disclosed that the Iraqi officer who spearheaded the investigation, Col. Faris Karim (who also told the FBI that he was present in Nisur Square during the incident), has suspected insurgency ties.Read More
On Monday, June 18, 2018, jury selection began in Nick Slatten's long-awaited retrial. However, the jury will not return to court this week. Rather, key motions are being filed pertaining to last-minute revelations of more exculpatory evidence and bad faith on behalf of the government. A hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 20, 2018, and we hope to have more information--and hopefully quotes from and links to the motions--by the end of the week.Read More
Following an appellate decision that is far from true justice, Paul Slough's wife, Christin, summed it up when she said in a recent interview, "We're just going to continue to have faith in God because our government has failed us repeatedly." Just this past weekend, on Sunday July 16th, I (Christin Slough, wife of Paul Slough) was privileged to attend an incredibly fun and successful fundraiser hosted by the Pipe Hitter's Union Motorcycle Club - Danger Close Chapter - in Alexandria, VA.
I was met at the airport by a whole contingent of club members, who actually escorted me (motorcade style!) to my hotel and then again to and from the event the next day. I was treated like a Queen from the moment I landed until the moment I left - these kind, generous men and their wonderful wives will forever hold a place in my heart!
The actual event was a cornhole tournament hosted at a local brewery benefitting the chapter's local domestic violence. My hand was never free of a cold beer! However, in the lead up to the event, they sold raffle tickets for two AR 15 rifles. The raffle donation and t-shirt sales resulted in a whopping $10,500 contribution to the families of Raven 23. I almost cried! To watch the video of me getting my socks blown off accepting the donation, click here.
These contributions pay commissary funds, family bills, travel expenses and much more. They are greatly appreciated by all four our families, who will be equal beneficiaries of the funds so we can allot them as each families sees need.
