Where We Are Today

Today, four heroes sit in jail awaiting sentencing. They've been found guilty of a combined 31 counts of voluntary and attempted manslaughter, except for Nick Slatten who has been convicted of first degree murder. Three of the four defendants have been charged with the felony weapons charges, which were not filed against Nick Slatten due to his first degree murder charge having a mandatory life sentence anyways.

Of course we will diligently fight this through the appellate process, but the appeal process is not fast, and it will take time... Time that our heroes will be subjected to the pain and suffering that comes along with being stripped of their families and everything that they have worked and sacrificed for.

Personally, I don't blame the jury, I blame the government for maliciously performing legal gymnastics in order to find a way to convict patriots and veterans for political expediency. The foundation of our judicial system is a trial presented in front of a jury of our peers. Twelve normal citizens from the District of Columbia, with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, were unfairly asked to render a verdict on something that happened in a combat zone. You cannot describe combat, and you cannot fully grasp the events of this situation without context. This is why the military conducts their trials in theater, with people who understand the environment in which they live - their peers.

Will you join us in fighting this injustice?

Will you to go to the polls, talk about your concerns and pray for us? Will you write your Congressman, Senator, or local/regional/state government officials?

Please stand with us as we say "This is not acceptable. I will not stand idly by while my government terrorizes my neighbors, friends and fellow citizens for political expediency. And I will not elect people that support this administration."

This site, including this page, was not developed by any of the defendants or anyone else on scene that day. This page was built from knowledge gained by being direct observers of the judicial process over the course of more than seven years. While we have tried to carefully construct this page to be as accurate as possible, please keep in mind that we are just humans. Please consider all of the information on this page to be the personal opinions of those close to the events.
